You can never know someone’s pain, but I have a bit of experience on this topic. I did a post last week about my dad’s death as well. Mine was 26 years ago. Six years is still so fresh of a wound, but I can say, you never heal completely, but it gets better with time. Sounds as if you had an awesome father. He certainly made an awesome daughter.

I feel as though I could post the same sentiments with my dad if I’m not careful. Perhaps the lesson he left you, ironically, is to hold tight to those you love, push yourself to get to know people you might be quick to dismiss, and please, be gentle with yourself.
