Pimped up Lack

Assignment: take a €5 IKEA Lack table and make something with it related to book storage or reading.

Result: Book hanger table

(spannram was some swedish word meaning room where you hang out the clothes, or something)

UPcycling workshop with Arnout Visser

Posted by sol in designer

It was exhausting, it was fun, and it will culminate on March 17th in an exhibition and auction of the pieces made. More info on that to follow.

Here’s what I made:

In spite of the various kilns available, I decided to work solely by cutting, polishing, sandblasting and glueing my pieces.

From top to bottom, left to right: A flower vase (“hungry”), a lamp (“nerd”), 2 carafes with cup lid (“thirsty blue” and “thirsty green”), a breakfast mug with donut holding handle (“excited”), an ashtray (“chunky”) and finally an olive spoon (“spoon”).

Being busy is great.

The kids keep coming every night to our bed and it won’t stop you know why? because we love it more than we hate it, that’s why.

And how could we not love it?
